If you like active travel and want to see the best of East Africa at the same time, then there is no better destination than Uganda in our opinion. There are actually too many to mention, but here are some highlights of the Activity tour:
You go on foot with a ranger through the park. Besides getting you moving, the ranger tells you everything about the animals you see, the tracks, the vegetation
Gorillas and chimpanzees are constantly on the move. Sometimes you find them after half an hour of hiking, sometimes you are on the road for a few hours.
You literally cycle between zebras, antelopes and giraffes. You see lots of birds. And don’t worry: you cycle during the day, then the cats are not active.
If you want something a bit rougher and are not afraid of water, then rafting on the Nile is recommended.
The most challenging hike of all is climbing to the summit of the Rwenzori Mountains – which is 5,300 meters high.
On Lake Mutanda for example – perhaps the most beautiful place in Uganda to get into a canoe. The lake is on the border with Congo and Rwanda and is surrounded by volcanoes.
A tour lasts as long as you want. For the Active tour the minimum duration is 12 days. The prices depend on the duration of your trip and the size of your group.
Are you coming with a group of 5 people? Then you can go on a 12-day trip for around €3,000 per person. Are you coming with two people? Then you pay around €3,700 per person for a 12-day trip.
